Spoilers for the next-film teaser after Fallen Angel of the Highway, Holmes’ Revelation, and Shinichi and Ran’s relationship.
London and a focus on Shinichi Kudo and Ran Mouri are strong interpretations of the 2027 film teaser, not a complete announced plot. The bell sound associated with Big Ben and the exchange between the two characters point back to the London storyline. They do not establish that the entire film takes place there or that every theory about its cast is correct.
The next numbered film is the 30th, coinciding with the theatrical series’ 30th anniversary. That milestone makes a return to the central detective and heroine appealing, but the anniversary itself cannot confirm the story.
What is established, and what is still speculation?

The theatrical series began in 1997, making 2027 its 30th anniversary. The next-film hint follows the 29th installment, Fallen Angel of the Highway. Those points provide the framework for discussing Movie 30.
The short teaser described here combines a Big Ben-like chime with Shinichi and Ran’s voices. The resulting London association is persuasive. A setting suggested by sound, however, could become a principal location, a brief opening, a flashback, or a reference to an earlier relationship milestone.
The teaser alone does not identify an exact release day, complete cast, director, screenwriter, guest voices, theme song, or detailed synopsis. A title puzzle and familiar dialogue should not be used to fill those gaps with invented announcements.
What does the Golden Week window mean?
A 2027 Golden Week release window is reported for the next film. In Japan, Golden Week refers to the spring holiday period around late April and early May. A broad release window is different from a confirmed opening day, and it is not an international release schedule.
The series often opens its films in spring, but that pattern cannot choose a particular Friday. Ticket sales, advance screenings, and release plans for other territories need their own announcements. No precise opening date is asserted here.
Why London is the leading setting theory

The Big Ben association is the immediate clue. It becomes more suggestive when combined with a conversation about Shinichi failing to understand Ran’s feelings, because London already joins two central parts of his character: Sherlock Holmes and his relationship with her.
In Holmes’ Revelation, Shinichi reaches the city associated with his detective ideal and struggles with a problem deduction cannot neatly resolve. Ran needs him to respond to her feelings rather than treat her as another mystery. Returning to that city could bring both threads together in an anniversary film.
That is the analytical reason the theory is stronger than a guess based on scenery alone. It remains a theory about how the film might use the reference. The chime does not require a full-length London adventure.
Does London mean Shinichi will return to his adult body?
The earlier London story presents a practical obstacle: Conan does not have an ordinary passport in the identity he now uses. Haibara’s temporary antidote allows him to become Shinichi and travel on Shinichi’s passport.
If Movie 30 takes him abroad in a similar way, a temporary return to his original body is an obvious possibility. It could give the film more time with Shinichi himself and make his encounter with Holmes’s city especially direct.
But that is a conditional argument. London might be used in recollection or through another character, and a new film could handle travel differently. A London clue does not confirm an antidote scene or a lasting reversal of APTX4869.
Why Shinichi and Ran matter beyond a familiar confession
Their voices give them a strong claim to the teaser’s emotional focus. Recent films have explored other major relationships, so a return to the central pair for the 30th entry would be an understandable creative choice.
The important question is what stage of their relationship a new story would address. Shinichi’s London confession is followed later by Ran’s response during the Kyoto school trip. They are not simply childhood friends who have never acknowledged their feelings.
They are a couple whose closeness is constrained by Shinichi’s life as Conan and the secret he keeps to protect Ran. Knowing their feelings are mutual does not eliminate distance, absence, or the frustration of being unable to share the truth.
A new London story could examine their present relationship
Repeating the confession would reproduce an old turning point. Returning to its setting after their relationship has progressed could instead ask what they need from each other now.
Shinichi can solve a difficult case and still fail to reassure Ran. Ran can trust his feelings and still be hurt by his absence. That tension offers more than a familiar romantic backdrop: it places a limit on the kind of problem his usual deductive brilliance can solve.
This is a possible direction, not a promised scene or resolution. The teaser can recall the earlier argument without guaranteeing that the film will replay it verbatim.
What about Akai and the wider cast?
The Akai family’s British connections make them easy to imagine in a London story. That thematic connection is not direct evidence that Shuichi Akai or his relatives appear in Movie 30.
Likewise, hearing Shinichi and Ran does not establish an exclusive two-character focus. Other major figures could join the case. Casting theories should remain separate from an announced character list.
The reported title hint and why the guesses are not titles

A title puzzle attributed to Gosho Aoyama’s Animal Crossing comments has prompted speculation. Rendered as a rough sound pattern for readers who do not read Japanese, it is ? TA ? / no / ? I ? ? ? I. Each question mark stands for a hidden Japanese kana position, not one English letter.
If that reported pattern is accurate, it offers only a partial reading. It does not establish the final written characters, stylized reading, or an official English title. Conan film titles often combine written forms and readings in ways that a simple sound puzzle cannot predict.
Futari no Meitantei and Watashi no Meitantei
Two suggestions are Futari no Meitantei, roughly meaning two great detectives, and Watashi no Meitantei, roughly meaning my great detective. These are fan guesses and loose English explanations, not announced Japanese or English titles.
The first invites questions about which two people might be paired. The second can be read as a phrase Ran might direct toward Shinichi, which makes it appealing alongside the teaser’s romantic associations. A phrase fitting the blanks is still not proof that it is the answer.
Different written forms, readings, or an entirely different solution could change the interpretation. The puzzle is useful for generating possibilities, not for labelling the film as though a title reveal has occurred.
Do paired Animal Crossing displays reveal the leads?
Reports also describe a movie-themed display presenting characters in pairs. Even if that format is accurate, two figures shown together would not necessarily be the film’s two leads. Multiple pairs could be part of a gradual character reveal.
Shinichi and Ran are an attractive possibility, but so are other combinations involving Conan and familiar characters. A reported display format is not a confirmed lineup. The actual characters and the context of their appearance would need to support any stronger conclusion.
The earlier story behind the teaser exchange

The exchange strongly recalls Holmes’ Revelation, the London case in Volumes 71-72 and international Episodes 667-672 (Japanese episodes 616-621).
In paraphrase, Ran challenges Shinichi to use his detective skills to understand her heart, and he calls after her. The frustration belongs to their particular circumstances: she waits for him, while he cannot tell her the full reason for his absence.
The dialogue works as a compact reminder of that dynamic. It does not have to reveal a newly recorded scene from the next film’s final screenplay. A teaser can invoke an existing relationship through a familiar exchange without promising an identical event in the movie.
Shinichi’s confession in London
During the London storyline, Shinichi answers Ran’s frustration by admitting that the person he loves is especially difficult for him to understand. Even the detective he most admires could not make personal feelings disappear from that problem.
The scene is a confession precisely because he stops speaking only as a solver of puzzles and reveals his own emotional involvement. London becomes both the city of Holmes and the place where Shinichi tells Ran how he feels.
This is why the location carries more weight than a recognizable landmark. A return could reactivate a decision that changed the relationship, even if the new case has an entirely different mystery.
Kyoto supplies Ran’s answer
The relationship moves forward in The Scarlet School Trip, in Volumes 94-95 and international Episodes 982-985 (Japanese episodes 927-928). Shinichi temporarily regains his older appearance and joins the Kyoto trip, where Ran responds to his feelings.
London gives Shinichi’s confession; Kyoto advances the mutual relationship. Keeping both in view avoids describing the current pair as though the London exchange were the last development between them.
The difficulty that remains is not simply whether they love one another. It is how to sustain that relationship while Shinichi’s identity and the danger surrounding him limit what he can say and do.
Stories that help explain the clues

These are useful companion stories for interpreting the teaser, not an officially announced prerequisite list for Movie 30.
Holmes’ Revelation
Read from Volume 71, chapter 3, through Volume 72, chapter 1, or watch international Episodes 667-672 (Japanese episodes 616-621). The story connects the passport and antidote problem, Holmes-related deduction, and Shinichi and Ran’s emotional conflict in London.
It provides the strongest direct context for the chime and conversation. The case and the confession work together: Shinichi’s dream destination also becomes a place where he has to confront his limitations outside detective work.
The Scarlet School Trip
Volumes 94-95, adapted as international Episodes 982-985 (Japanese episodes 927-928), show how Ran responds to the London confession. Watching it afterward establishes the difference between their earlier uncertainty and their later relationship.
That distinction matters to any prediction about a return to London. A new story could draw on the old conversation while giving it a different meaning for two people whose feelings have since been acknowledged.
The Phantom of Baker Street
The sixth film, The Phantom of Baker Street, offers a different use of London and Holmes. Its late-19th-century London is recreated inside the virtual-reality game Cocoon, rather than being an ordinary visit to the modern city.
It is a thematic comparison, not an established prequel to Movie 30. If the new film uses contemporary London, the contrast between that city and the earlier simulated world could be interesting. That possibility does not confirm a shared plot or direct sequel.
The strongest clue is the combination of London imagery and Shinichi and Ran’s relationship. It gives the speculation a coherent basis while leaving the title, setting, cast, and new story to be established by fuller announcements.
