File 1148 exposes the staged suicide note and brings Rumi Wakasa face-to-face with Kanenori Wakita (RUM). Camel remains under threat, and File 1148 does not identify the person who triggered Haibara’s danger sense.
In File 1147, Camel and RUM recognized each other. The new murder case now prevents Camel from calling for help. The following theories reflect what was known at File 1148, without assuming later outcomes.
Detective Conan File 1148 “The Visitor of Chaos” – Spoilers
The chapter opens inside Apartment 102—the new crime scene. The victim, Teigo Shukawa, is found hanging from a pull-up bar.
Because Inspector Megure is tied up questioning suspects from the prior case, on-site forensics falls to Inspector Shiratori and Detectives Miwako Sato and Chiba.
1148 Spoiler ① – Three Prime Suspects
- Yuu Kurei, the gamer next door who streams a monster-hunting game.
- Michiya Atobe, another neighbor who also streams games.
- Ando — actually FBI agent Andre Camel, last seen arguing with the victim.
Kurei and Atobe insist it’s suicide, pointing to a note reading “I’m done. It’s over.” (unofficial translation) Detective Sato chills the note in a fridge, revealing erased ink:
“Been grinding for three days. This is impossible. The devs are finished.” (unofficial translation)
The altered message converts a suicide tableau into proof of homicide. Camel tries to make a phone call but Shiratori forbids it: he’s now a formal suspect.
1148 Spoiler ② – Shuichi Akai Can’t Reach Camel
FBI sharpshooter Shuichi Akai updates Jodie Starling: Camel’s phone has gone dark. Worse, Camel switched to a brand-new handset today, and GPS tracking isn’t active.
Jodie offers to retrace Camel’s usual jogging route, but Akai senses something bigger and urges caution.
1148 Spoiler ③ – Trouble for the Detective Boys
Meanwhile, the Detective Boys head home—Ai Haibara’s dizziness has passed. Just when things seem normal, Haibara’s danger radar spikes again. She turns to look behind her…
1148 Spoiler ④ – Interrogations Begin
The two streamers claim airtight alibis: they were live on camera at the time of death, and VOD footage proves it. By contrast, Camel says he was at a phone store three hours earlier and then bumped into Conan while jogging—no hard timestamp, making him the prime suspect.
Watching silently is Kanenori Wakita—RUM. He uses his earpiece to tell his men to stop the jamming because police are nearby. He knows Camel still cannot contact anyone outside and orders his abduction once the case ends.
1148 Spoiler ⑤ – Rumi Wakasa Enters, Derailing Wakita
Conan notices a broken chain fragment and a mysterious scratch by the doorway—enough to solve the locked-room trick, but he can’t use his tranquilizer needle with Wakita present. As he brainstorms a distraction, an all-too-familiar voice cuts in:
Rumi Wakasa: “Hmm, I know that voice… Have we met? Perhaps at a sushi shop?” (unofficial translation)
Rumi steps into view—face-to-face with Wakita/RUM—bringing the chapter to a dramatic cliff-hanger.

Detective Conan File 1148 “The Visitor of Chaos” – Review & Theories
This chapter is nothing short of explosive—RUM’s relentless surveillance of Camel, capped by Rumi Wakasa stepping directly in front of Kanenori Wakita / RUM. Below are the biggest talking points and predictions.
1148 Review & Theory ① – Wakita and Wakasa’s Direct Confrontation
RUM had targeted Rumi Wakasa over his suspicion that she was Asaka. File 1148 now brings them into a direct confrontation. It does not establish when suspicion became certainty or how much either character knows.
Wakasa’s question about his voice puts the earlier case into the conversation, but File 1148 does not establish her next move. She may maintain appearances in public while preparing a response out of sight.
1148 Review & Theory ② – RUM’s Security Is Practically Impenetrable
Throughout this case, RUM shadows Camel with surgical precision. Conan can’t rely on remote voice-throwing tricks like last time; Wakita nudges him to deliver evidence to the police and keeps him within view, making any covert action risky. The big question: how can Conan crack the locked-room mystery under RUM’s watchful eye?
Wakasa’s sudden arrival may break RUM’s focus—opening the window Conan needs to solve the case and protect Camel. All eyes are on how this three-way standoff unfolds next.
Wakasa’s confrontation also carries the weight of the deaths of Koji Haneda and Amanda Hughes. She may want to act against RUM because of that history, while he could shift his attention from Camel to Asaka. Her strength and alertness make an easy abduction uncertain; none of these possible next moves is confirmed in File 1148.
1148 Review & Theory ③ – What Triggered Haibara’s Danger Sense?
Haibara’s danger sense flares while the Detective Boys head home, but File 1148 does not identify the person who triggered it. Wakasa is the leading theory. If she met the returning group and heard that Conan was at the murder scene, that could explain how she found him. A chance encounter could also account for Haibara’s reaction, given her earlier reactions to Wakasa. These are possible links, not a confirmed encounter in this File.
Shuichi Akai is another possible explanation. He is trying to locate Camel after losing phone contact; if he met the Detective Boys, he might ask them about Camel’s movements. Jodie has already suggested checking Camel’s usual jogging route, so this theory cannot rely on an absence of that clue. File 1148 confirms neither an encounter between Akai and the group nor that he caused Haibara’s reaction.
Even if Camel escapes, RUM now knows he survived and may question whether Shuichi Akai survived as well. If Akai’s survival were established, Kir’s cover as a CIA agent inside the Black Organization could be endangered. The Kudo Residence, Agasa’s home, and FBI bases might also become targets through their links to Camel and Akai. This is a chain of risks considered at File 1148, not a confirmed operation or a guarantee that Camel escapes.
