The previous mini-arc spotlighted Chisato Hagiwara, showcasing her sharp deduction skills and ending with a cameo from Toru Amuro.
After a short hiatus, the manga launches a brand-new case—this time featuring both Amuro and Masumi Sera.
Below you’ll find spoiler-heavy plot points and first impressions for Detective Conan (Case Closed) File 1126, “Suspicious Visitors,” as serialized in Weekly Shōnen Sunday issue 29.
Detective Conan 1126 “Suspicious Visitors”– Spoiler
The chapter opens inside Café Poirot.
Present are the high-school “JK trio” — Ran Mouri, Sonoko Suzuki, and Masumi Sera — plus Conan and waitress Azusa Enomoto.
Everyone is puzzling over Azusa’s brain-teaser: “Move four matchsticks to change a ‘10’ into a ‘1’.”
Thanks to a hint involving spilled water, Sera cracks the puzzle.
File 1126 Spoiler ① – Toru Amuro Is Also on Shift
Barista Toru Amuro overhears the solution and remarks that Sera must have noticed Conan’s damp “oshibori” (wet towel) clue.
Sparks fly as usual between Sera and Amuro.
File 1126 Spoiler ② – A Sinister News Report
Sonoko scrolls through her phone and finds a chilling headline: police have arrested a killer who kept one finger from each victim as a trophy.
The suspect refuses to speak, so investigators don’t know whether he had accomplices.
Azusa stares at the mugshot—she’s sure she has seen that face before, foreshadowing her key role in the case.
File 1126 Spoiler ③ – Three Suspicious Customers
Azusa then serves three masked patrons who immediately raise red flags:
Kiyoshi Hanke – complains the café’s beef stew tastes identical to another shop’s, hinting he is a regular elsewhere.
Reita Kanamaru – sneezes repeatedly and asks for a coffee refill.
Keisuke Omura – leans in and whispers, “Please don’t tell anyone we spoke,” before leaving.
File 1126 Spoiler ④ – Conan & Azusa Go on a Supply Run
When Amuro runs out of herb-infused salt, Conan volunteers to escort Azusa to buy more.
On the walk, he quizzes her—rather pointedly—about why she knows so much about Shinichi Kudo’s neighborhood.
Thirty minutes pass and they still haven’t returned, so Ran calls Azusa’s mobile.
Azusa whispers that a “sketchy guy” is tailing them.
Conan tells Ran they’re right across the street and asks Amuro to come outside and “nab the pursuer.”
File 1126 Spoiler ⑤ – Abduction in Broad Daylight
As Amuro exits Poirot, a bus rumbles by. When it clears, Conan and Azusa have vanished.
A nearby elderly woman tells Amuro she saw them forced into a black car—and she’s allergic to cats, so she distinctly recalls a passenger sneezing inside.
Cut to a dark room: Conan and Azusa are shackled at the ankles.
Azusa stumbles toward a refrigerator, opens it, and screams—inside is a jar containing a human head.
To be continued in File 1127…
Detective Conan 1126 “Suspicious Visitors” – Review & Theories
This brand-new arc is almost certain to have major consequences for the larger story.
Below are our spoiler-filled impressions and what to watch for next.
File 1126 Review & Theories ① – Toru Amuro Moves One Step Closer to Conan
The spotlight is firmly on Toru Amuro. In File 1125 he planted a bug near Conan, following orders from the mysterious elder who told him to investigate Shinichi Kudo.
The new case looks poised to push Amuro’s covert inquiry—and his relationship with Conan—forward in a big way.
File 1126 Review & Theories ② – Amuro & Masumi Sera: Sparks Ready to Fly
Amuro and Masumi Sera have been uneasy “allies” since the Bourbon arc, and Amuro knows Sera’s brother is Shuichi Akai.
Their brief exchange in this chapter suggests Masumi is suspicious of him.
Any scene that puts these two in the same room usually foreshadows a key reveal—keep an eye on their next confrontation.
File 1126 Review & Theories ③ – The Mystery of the “Black Baby”
When Amuro questions the elderly witness, a stroller holding a dark-clad “baby” appears in the panel.
Coupled with the woman’s cat allergy (she mentions sneezing in the abductor’s car), this detail feels too pointed to ignore.
Expect that stroller—and whatever was really inside—to matter later.
File 1126 Review & Theories ④ – A Rare Chapter Where Conan Gets Kidnapped
Conan is typically the rescuer, not the victim, so his abduction raises the stakes.
With both Amuro and Sera on the board, the rescue will probably reveal sensitive intel—perhaps even something linking Conan and Shinichi that Amuro can exploit.
All signs point to this arc driving the overarching plot forward in a significant way.
