Spoilers ahead for Detective Conan File 1130, “The Ochre Opening.”
File 1130 begins immediately after Miku Narazawa’s fall and adds a second marionette-style death to the stage-play case. Osaka Police question the actors, but the statements leave the culprit unclear. Before the investigation can narrow the field, Ayari Kakiwaki falls from the building in the same disturbing pose.

The First Body and the Second Message
The chapter opens with the cast gathered around Miku Narazawa’s body. Her phone lands nearby and displays the message “I am the Devil Puppet-Master.” (unofficial translation) Youka Kuraishi, who plays Kaede Otsuka, faints when she sees it. The message turns the first murder into a direct threat against the troupe.
Osaka Police Question the Cast
Inspector Goro Otaki conducts voluntary interviews in the practice studio because the troupe has another performance and the cast has already been reshuffled. The actors’ statements reveal tensions and suspicious behavior without settling who caused the first fall.
Tenma Anzaka: The Heiichi Actor
Narazawa had feelings for Tenma Anzaka and left the dressing room with him before her death. Anzaka knows Otaki and points the investigators toward Kuraishi as someone who may have resented Narazawa. Nagakubo later says Anzaka was below the building during the fall, but Anzaka does not offer that explanation himself.
Youka Kuraishi: The Forced Kyoto Accent
Kuraishi says Narazawa mocked her Kyoto accent, which the late director Kabumoto had taught her despite her being from the Kanto region. When asked whether there was any other reason for resentment, she raises her voice and denies it. She then points to Ayari Kakiwaki as a possible suspect.
Ayari Kakiwaki: A Rival Moved into the Role
Kakiwaki and Narazawa debuted at the same time and were rivals. Kakiwaki has been moved from Rieko Mouri into Narazawa’s former role of Ochiba Toyama. She says she told Narazawa about a romantic rival’s weakness, though she does not remember the details. When asked who is suspicious, she points to Nagakubo.
Nobuya Nagakubo and Toshikata Yoshiura
Nagakubo has repeatedly been rejected by Narazawa. He says Anzaka was below the building when she fell and questions why Anzaka has not mentioned it, but quickly retracts the observation as a possible mistaken sighting. He also reports Yoshiura’s remark that he might move up to the Heiichi role. Yoshiura stays in the restroom, saying something he ate made him ill, and calls the promotion only a wish.
Kenzaki and Komoto are not treated as immediate suspects because they were handling media interviews when the first fall happened and had already been questioned.
A Second Fall Before the Interviews Are Finished
When Conan Edogawa, Heiji Hattori, and Kuraishi go to the fourth-floor nap room, Anzaka appears to be asleep. Kuraishi opens the door and a scream comes from outside. Kakiwaki has fallen and struck her head. Like Narazawa, she is arranged as if she were a puppet.
The repetition makes the “Devil Puppet-Master” idea more than a piece of stage gossip. It may be a deliberate signature, a way to frame the murders around Kabumoto’s reputation, or a clue to how the culprit wants the police to interpret the deaths.
Review and Theories
Heiji Is Still Thinking About His Confession
Heiji remains focused on confessing to Kazuha at Naniwa Harukas. The sunset and the observation deck keep returning as his ideal setting, while Kazuha’s mask continues to invite speculation. Lipstick is one possible explanation for the mask, but nothing in this chapter confirms the reason.
Every Suspect Still Has a Suspicious Detail
Anzaka does not claim the position that could provide an alibi, while Nagakubo quickly casts doubt on his own sighting. Kuraishi’s raised-voice denial is defensive, and Yoshiura’s hoped-for promotion and absence invite questions. Reading Nagakubo as an obsessive rejected admirer is an interpretation of his behavior, rather than his own description. None of these details alone establishes the culprit.
The Puppet Image Is the Case’s Organizing Clue
Both victims are made to look like marionettes, and Kuraishi collapses when the Devil Puppet-Master is mentioned. A likely reading is that the murders are linked to Kabumoto’s influence, but the chapter has not yet shown whether that link is personal, symbolic, or part of the killer’s staging.
