Detective Conan Manga Chapter 1130 Spoilers, Theories & Review | Case Closed

A brand-new arc kicked off last chapter (File 1129), centering on an Osaka stage play modeled after Heiji Hattori and Kogoro Mori—and it wasted no time turning into a real-life murder scene.

With a large ensemble cast and a web of backstage grudges, this case promises to grow increasingly complex.

We’ll break it down episode by episode so no clue gets overlooked.

Below you’ll find spoiler-heavy plot points and early theories for Detective Conan (Case Closed) File 1130, as published in Weekly Shōnen Sunday issue 39 (21 Aug 2024).

Warning: major spoilers ahead.

Detective Conan File 1130 “The Bright Yellow First Act” – Spoilers

The chapter opens exactly where we left off: actress Miku Narazawa—playing Ochiba Toyama—has plunged from the theater roof.

Moments later her smartphone lands beside the body, displaying a single cryptic line:

“I am the Devil Puppet-Master.”

Cast and crew rush to the scene, and fellow actress Youka Kuraishi (cast as Kaede Otsuka) faints at the sight.

File 1130 Spoiler ① – Osaka Police Launch On-Site Interviews

Inspector Otaki of Osaka Prefectural Police arrives and, to save rehearsal time, conducts voluntary questioning right inside the practice studio.

Suspect 1: Tenma Anzaka – Plays “Heiichi Hattori”

Narazawa had a crush on Anzaka and was last seen leaving the dressing room with him.

Anzaka, an old acquaintance of Otaki, suggests actress Youka Kuraishi might have held a grudge.

Suspect 2: Youka Kuraishi – Plays “Kaede Otsuka”

Kuraishi says Narazawa mocked her “fake Kyoto accent.”

The dialect was forced on her by the late tyrannical director Kabumoto—the so-called Devil Puppet-Master.

Kuraishi points a finger at actress Ayari Kakiwaki.

Suspect 3: Ayari Kakiwaki – Plays “Mouri Rieko”

Kakiwaki was recently bumped up from Rieko Mouri to Narazawa’s role.

She and Narazawa debuted the same year and were fierce rivals.

She claims poor memory of past spats but hints that actor Nobuya Nagakubo looks suspicious.

Suspect 4: Nobuya Nagakubo – Plays “Suruga Iori”

Nagakubo has been rejected by Narazawa multiple times.

He notes that Anzaka omitted the fact he was standing directly below the fall zone.

Nagakubo also claims actor Toshikata Yoshiura spoke of a “premonition” he would soon move up to a lead role.

Suspect 5: Toshikata Yoshiura – Plays “Daigoro Mouri”

Yoshiura has been holed up in the restroom all morning with what he calls food poisoning.

He insists his wish to play Heiichi was only a dream.

Actors Kenzaki & Komoto…

Because they were giving media interviews when the fall occurred—and have already been questioned by police—neither is treated as an immediate suspect.

File 1130 Spoiler ② – A Second Fall Shocks the Troupe

When Conan, Heiji, and Kuraishi head to the 4th-floor nap room to check on Anzaka, they find him sleeping.

Kuraishi opens the door—just as a scream echoes outside. Rushing back to the balcony, they discover Ayari Kakiwaki on the pavement, head first, limbs bent at right angles like a marionette—an eerie copy of Narazawa’s death.

“Devil Puppet-Master” strikes again…

File 1131 continues the Osaka stage-play murder arc.

Detective Conan File 1130 “The Bright Yellow First Act” – Review & Theories

The chapter looked like a straight investigation episode—until a second corpse hit the pavement.

With no clear prime suspect yet, here are the key take-aways and loose theories.

File 1130 Review & Theories ① – Heiji Can’t Stop Thinking About His Confession

Once again, the big side plot is whether Heiji will finally confess his feelings to Kazuha.

He’s fixated on Osaka’s landmark Abeno Harukas as the “perfect scenic spot.”

Kazuha keeps her mask on, and Heiji clearly hopes to time his confession around it.

Because she tried to show Ran something under the mask earlier, the leading fan theory is lipstick:

cute lip tint → Heiji wants to steal a kiss → full confession

Fingers crossed!

File 1130 Review & Theories ② – Everyone Still Looks Suspicious

Tenma Anzaka – Has a solid alibi yet never mentions it; name-drops his friendship with Inspector Otaki.

Youka Kuraishi – Shouts defensively when asked about motives.

Nobuya Nagakubo – borders on stalking. He quickly retracted his statement about seeing Anzaka at the first crime scene, suggesting he may have lied.

Toshikata Yoshiura – Hiding in the restroom all day; casually mentions he “might be promoted” to the lead role.

With so many red flags, Conan and Heiji can’t narrow the field—yet.

File 1130 Review & Theories ③ – The Marionette Pose Is the Key Clue

Both victims—Narazawa and now Kakiwaki—landed with arms bent at perfect right angles, like puppets.

That screams homage to director Kabumoto, the industry’s infamous “Devil Puppet-Master.”

Kuraishi fainted the moment she saw the phrase “I am the Devil Puppet-Master,” so the puzzle is how the murders, Kabumoto’s reputation, and the staged marionette poses connect.

Expect that motif to unlock the real killer’s method in the coming chapters.
